Guillaume Vanier - Carignan Soldier?

"Guillaume was possibly a Carignan Soldier, since during the signing of his marriage contract to Madeleine Bailly, Jean Talon was present. It was common practice for the intendant to assist the signing of the marriage contract for his soldiers. There were about 17 soldiers in the regiment with the surname «dit lafontaine».
