It has been a productive year in 2019 for the site, greatly due to the collaboration between
Jean-Yves,
Yves and
Jean-Claude Vanier.
Jean-Claude and Yves discovered many old records of
baptism,
marriage,
et death,
in addition to wills
and various contracts,
in regards to our Vanier ancestors.
We also added many new
celebreties
in our family tree this year, with the following since march:

are children of the cardiologist
Paul David (founder of the Monteal Heart Institute Foundation), and the grand-children
of Athanase David (lawyer and politician)! All descendents
of Angelique Vanier.

Yves Vanier found a not so distant cousing, and well know in quebec:
Claude Legault, actor and sript writer in quebec.
Claude is a member of the 11th generation and is descendant of Olivine Vanier.

While reading a copy of La feuille de Chêne published by the "Société généalogique de Saint Eustache",
Jean-Claude Vanier discovers a new family
missing from the Vanier Family family tree. It's the family of
Élizabeth Vanier & Nelson Désormaux,
married in 1896, parents of 14 children! Ernest, brother of Nelson Désormeaux, had a small chapel constructed along the
"Grande Côte" in St-Eustache, that still exists today.

a class="navs" href="http://www.famillevanier.ca/genealogie_1261111111.htm">Yann Martel, has a common ancestor with the Vanier Family in North America.
Yann Martel is of the 10th generation and descendant of
Marie Madeleine Vanier.

We have rediscovered that Madeleine Bailly (wife of our ancestor
Guillaume Vanier) arrived in Québec city on August 15, 1671 on bord the ship named
Saint-Jean-Baptiste.

, Yves presents not only indisputable facts about the existence of our ancestors in France, but also dates, names and locations very important to our family
history, which were unknown until today. In this document Yves skilfully interprets many records from the Honfleur parish and the
family Notary Saunier archives, in addition to the record
acte de règlement du 26 avril 1726, which unveils
a surprising family story on what lead to the final record which settled the inheritances in France. Thanks again for this wonderful document and congratulations!

At the end of July, Yves Vanier visits the
departmental archives of Calvados in Caen, Normandy, France. He spent a week researching the archives of 1724 to 1726 of the
Vanier family notary in d'Honfleur, the tabellion Gilles Saunier. He finally came upon a record
acte de règlement du 26 avril 1726
(French only, English version to come later), signed by
Jean le Vanier and
Nicolas Dunepveu,
which settles de inheritance of
Guillaume Vanier,
Pierre Vanier et
Jacqueline Gaillard (record transcribed by the paleographer Guy Perron).
The record also contains the mandate given to Jean Le Vanier by his mother, his sisters and brothers in law to settle the inheritances.
A record extremely important for the family which answers a number of questions raised in the article published on this web site in 2008:

Yves Vanier shares with us one of the most important genealogical discoveries in the
history of our family: Our ancestor Guillaume Vanier had a sister
Marguerite Vanier who lived in France!!!
Yves even finds the children and grandchildren of Marguerite.
Another remarkable discovery: The mother our Guillaume,
Jacqueline Gaillard widow of
Pierre Vanier, gets remarried to a
Nicolas Dunepveu. Jacqueline & Nicolas had 3 children
(and many grandchilden), half brother and half sisters of Guillaume and his sister Marguerite!!!

published by Gabriel Drouin in 1938, was then digitized by
L'institut généalogique Drouin, with the goal of preserving
the work and share its content with others. The genealogy contains paternal and
maternal descendants of Jean-Baptiste Honoré Edgar Vanier, .
On the maternal side, there are famous cousins such as

between the most honorable Major General Georges Philias Vanier
and the city of Honfleur mayor's office dating back to April 1, 1947. The mayor's office provided information about
our ancestor Guillaume Vanier in response to a request from the Major General
